From the opening scenes of this novel, when we meet Joy as a the daughter of a demanding father, we are swept up into a life that is both repressed and yet destined for something greater. Writing with her trademark grace and heart, she reveals a powerful, moving true story of self discovery, transcendent faith and how a beautiful marriage was born in the ashes of another. Lewis may very well be Patti Callahan’s crowning achievement.
